Architects becoming sourcing agents?

One thing I am getting asked more and more regularly is whether I know of anyone or do I have any sites that we could get planning permission for and sell. This takes me back to my old boss who ended up becoming part estate agent as he juggled around clients to keep our involvement with a site. That was reinforced this week on-site when I was talking to a planning consultant doing exactly the same thing. "I drive past loads of sites that have the potential to be developed under Class Q (conversion of agricultural buildings) and I wish I had the money to buy them all." Do you ask your Architect if they know anyone with any sites available to develop? If your Architect came to you with a site, what would you think?

Get in touch here if you'd like any more information on the topic.
