We are currently working on an exciting new marina facility and accommodation units. The concept takes the varying characterful forms of canal boats to produce spaces corresponding to their context. Situated together, the accommodation units read as a series of docked spaces, harbouring together with their unique characters. Motifs of porthole windows and playful roof structures further respond to the canal boat form. The concept of the waterline is then reflected with a social deck to separate the above from below. A strong gabion wall, harbouring weary travellers, supports the accommodation above with a floating appearance and reinforces the marina narrative.
